Half-Stroke Drawing

There would be one area i would question. How does the half stroke change a golfer's handicap?
The half stroke could be one more thing a golf foursome could do to have some fun as long as everyone agreed on the ground rule for only counting a half stroke. But, how does count toward a overall handicap?
